Flanagan to lead FG Presidential campaign

Laois Offaly TD Charlie Flanagan is to lead Fine Gael’s Presidential campaign.

He has been appointed as National Director of Elections for the Presidential election campaign and will be responsible for driving the strategy for the upcoming campaign and enlisting the party’s grassroots support.

Speaking about his appointment, Deputy Flanagan said he was looking forward to what would be an exciting campaign.

Fine Gael will select its nominee on Saturday.

Four candidates have put themselves forward: Mairead McGuinness, Gay Mitchell, Avril Doyle and Pat Cox.
