Bruton: No rift in Govt over JLC agreements

The Minister for Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation Richard Bruton has said he "cannot say" how many jobs will be created through a reform of wage-setting mechanisms.

However, Mr Bruton said he is determined to deliver the changes relating to overtime and Sunday premium pay which will impact on around 200,000 lower-paid workers.

He has also joined the Taoiseach Enda Kenny in denying that there is any rift in Government over the proposals to change JLC agreements.

But Minister Bruton admitted he cannot put a figure on the level of extra employment that will be generated through the overhaul of the system.
