The jury in the trial of a Dublin man accused of murdering a young father over five years ago has been instructed to return to the Central Criminal Court on Monday next, after "issues" arose in the case.

Thirty-year-old Aidan Finnegan, of Whitestown Avenue, Hartstown in Blanchardstown, was due to go on trial today for the murder of Dara McCormack on February 11, 2006.

Finnegan has denied murdering the 22-year-old, who was shot near his home at Whitestown Park, Hartstown at around 9.30pm on the night in question.

He was rushed to hospital but died from his injuries a short time later.
