Sinn Féin conference to explore economic benefits of united Ireland
Sinn Féin is hosting the first of two conferences on uniting Ireland in Dublin today.
Today's conference in the Pillar Room at the Rotunda will explore the logic of an economically united island.
Former Beirut hostage Brian Keenan and former UDP representative Davy Adams will speak at the event.
Deputy Leader of Sinn Féin Mary Lou McDonald says the idea of the conferences is to explore the good economic sense of a united Ireland.
"It simply makes sense to have an all-Ireland economy, to organise our services across the country on a 32-county basis," she said.
