Lynch pledges €6m funding for residential care for vulnerable

The Minister of State with responsibility for disability services, Kathleen Lynch, said today that talks are underway to ensure residential settings for people with disabilities are inspected by HIQA.

The Minister of State with responsibility for disability services, Kathleen Lynch, said today that talks are underway to ensure residential settings for people with disabilities are inspected by HIQA.

The proposal has been costed, and will require €6m in funding.

Ms Lynch says the Government is committed to safeguarding and protecting vulnerable people with disabilities in residential services, and ensuring that their quality of life is enhanced.
