Violent incidents in Irish workplaces are on the increase, according to a survey from employment law firm Peninsula Ireland.

The survey has revealed that 84% of employees have admitted to coming close to unleashing workplace violence, up from 75% in 2009.

Up to 73% said colleagues not pulling their weight during a time when teamwork is essential raises anger.

While 56% of employers said they had experienced an employee's rage in the work place ranging from office vandalism to physical violence.
