Four in Kildare court in connection with arms find
Four men have appeared in court following an arms find in Co. Kildare over the weekend.
Two firearms were discovered by Gardaí on Sunday when two cars were stopped in the village of Kill.
Three men appeared in court in Athy this afternoon - all charged with possession of a single barrel sawn off shotgun, four shot gun cartridges and a semi-automatic pistol.
29-year-old Paul Dempsey, 35-year-old Robert Dempsey - both with an address at Sheep Hill Avenue, Blanchardstown and 35-year-old Edward Tobin with an address at Whitechapel Lawns, Blanchardstown were remanded in custody to appear in court in Kilcock on June 21.
Elsewhere, 29-year-old Robert Dunne of Marian Court in Baldoyle appeared in Dublin District Court following the arms find on a charge of unlawfully possessing cannabis for sale and supply last Sunday.
He has been remanded on bail until July 12 to await further directions from the DPP.
The court heard more charges may follow.
