The Minister for Jobs and Enterprise Richard Bruton is insisting that changes to JLC wage agreements will not lead companies to lay off staff and rehire them.

Mr Bruton has finished the consultation programme on the Joint Labour Committee wage deal, and has indicated that any changes will only apply to newly hired workers and not existing staff.

The reform is expected to include changes to Sunday and overtime pay rates.
