Govt forms committee to deal with 'ghost estates'

The Government has established a new National Co-Ordination Committee to deal with the problem of 'ghost estates'.

It follows the publication of a new report which shows that there are more than 30,000 properties in the country which are either incomplete or vacant.

The report shows that there are 1,600 estates which require substantial work in the country.

The new committee, which will be chaired by the Housing Minister Willie Penrose, will seek to bring all stakeholders together to ensure that unfinished estates are completed.
