A man in his early 20's is in hospital following a serious assault which occurred in the early hours of this morning in Co. Monaghan.

A man in his early 20's is in hospital following a serious assault which occurred in the early hours of this morning in Co. Monaghan.

The incident occurred shortly after 5am at Lisdoonan, Carrickmacross, following which the man was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
