Man stabbed in face and neck in Down assault

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Co Down.

It happened shortly before 2am this morning at Duke Street in Warrenpoint, when a 24-year-old man suffered stab wounds to his face and neck during a row.

He has been treated in hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police investigating the attack are appealing for witnesses.
