Man accused of assault and slashing dog with knife

A jury has been sworn in for the trial of a man accused of assaulting another man and slashing the man's dog with a knife in Limerick.

A jury has been sworn in for the trial of a man accused of assaulting another man and slashing the man's dog with a knife in Limerick.

Forty-two-year-old Daniel O'Donoghue of Ardilee, Ballysheedy in Co Limerick has denied the charges at Limerick Circuit Court.

Mr O'Donoghue is also charged with causing criminal damage to the injured party's house in Askeaton in Co Limerick.

The case is due to begin this afternoon.
