Group calls for full implementation of Ryan recommendations
The Government is being urged to maintain its commitment to closing the gaps in the child welfare and protection system.
The call comes from the Saving Childhood Group, on the second anniversary of the publication of the Ryan report.
In highlighted that sexual abuse was endemic in boys' institutions and a chronic problem in some residential institutions - and contained a number of recommendations.
The Saving Childhood Group says while progress has been made on some of these measures, it is disappointed that two years on, the provision of aftercare has not yet been placed on a statutory footing.
