There has been a seizure of a rare drug at Dublin Airport today.

There has been a seizure of a rare drug at Dublin Airport today.

A total of 48 kilos of Khat - an amphetamine like substance generally grown in East African countries - was found packed inside two suitcases.

The drugs have an estimated street value of €100,000.

A British national travelling from Dublin to New York was detained by customs officials and handed over to gardaí

It is the second seizure of the drug at Dublin Airport this week.
