New interim HSE executive board appointed
A new interim executive board of the HSE has been appointed.
The board will be chaired by Dr Frank Dolphin who has accepted Minister Reilly’s request to remain as chair until the Minister introduces legislation to pave the way for removal of the requirement for a separate board of the HSE.
The new interim board will run the health services "in a more effective manner, with greater emphasis on service delivery, more integration and less duplication", the HSE said in a statement.
The Minister has asked the CEO and the secretary general to review the existing senior management roles and responsibilities in the Deparment of Health and the HSE to address any duplication of functions.
