Some jobless-support agencies 'counter-productive': ESRI

A new study has revealed that those who receive assistance from state agencies such as FÁS while on social welfare, are less likely to return to work than the average welfare recipient.

The research, from the Government's economic think tank the ESRI, found that these agencies have limited success and in some cases can be counter-productive.
