Burton: Govt fully committed to Croke Park Agreement
Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton has said the Government is fully committed to the Croke Park Agreement, despite a recommendation from the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) that it be scrapped.
The ESRI said the deal for public-sector reform had delivered too little, too late and should be abandoned. The think-tank is also advocating a more aggressive plan to address the budget deficit by cutting public sector pay by a further 10%, and increasing taxes.
