69-year-old woman admits handgun possession at Dublin Airport

A 69-year-old woman has admitted to possessing a handgun at Dublin Airport last year.

Elizabeth Griffin, of Mellowes Road, Finglas West pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possession of a semi-automatic pistol ath the airport on April 13, 2010.

Defence counsel Mr Sean Gillane said it was a case with "unusual features", which would take around 30 minutes to hear.

Judge Martin Nolan remanded the woman on continuing bail until July when she will face sentence.
