A man in his 50s has died in a boating accident in Co. Mayo.

A man in his 50s has died in a boating accident in Co. Mayo.

The man and two others were fishing on Lough Mask near Tourmakeady at around 2 o'clock this afternoon, when they got into difficulty.

It's understood a sudden swell caused the boat to capsize.

Two of the men managed to swim to safety - but the other man drowned.

His body has now been removed to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.
