Man dies after being struck by train

A man in his 30s has died after he was struck by a train in Co. Laois this evening.

His remains were removed to Portlaoise hospital shortly after the incident, which happened at about 4.50pm.

An investigation has been launched.

Irish Rail said its services to Cork, Kerry & Limerick are operating normally after some disruption earlier.
