Probe into data protection breaches in insurance sector

Details have emerged of a major investigation into an "unprecedented" number of data protection breaches in the Irish insurance industry.

Staff at some insurance companies have been disciplined after they inappropriately accessed data to examine the claims history of family, friends and a number of celebrities, the Irish Times reported today.
