Real IRA 'morally and politically bankrupt': Durkan

Former SDLP leader Mark Durkan has criticised the Real IRA for being "morally and politically bankrupt", after they threatened to kill more PSNI officers in the North.

In a statement issued yesterday, the dissident group also declared the British Queen's first visit to the Republic an "insult" and claimed she was guilty of war crimes.

Foyle MP Mark Durkan, said their pretensions to legitimacy were false, and added "Of course we take them for real, but not their logic...or their justification for what they are doing."
