Man critical following Dublin assault

A man is in a critical condition in the Mater Hospital following an attack in an apartment in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

A man is in a critical condition in the Mater Hospital following an attack in an apartment in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí arrived at the scene in The Premier Square apartments in Finglas just after 10am.

The 37-year-old Irish national suffered serious head injuries and is on a life support machine.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Ballymun and is being held at Finglas Garda Station.
