US banks investigator: Lying to regulator can underpin prosecutions
A US investigator believes there should be prosecutions in Ireland arising out of our banking crisis.
Bill Black helped the FBI to put 1,000 banking insiders behind bars in the US.
He has been following developments in the Irish banking landscape and says "deliberately lying to the regulators about a whole series of things" was the basis of successful prosecutions in the US in the Savings and Loan debacle.
