HSE: Recent improvements have rectified Mallow Hospital problems

The HSE has moved to reassure patients that Mallow General Hospital in Cork is safe after a damning report from the health watchdog.

A report from HIQA criticised the HSE's slowness in implementing recommended changes and questioned whether the necessary supports were in place to properly care for seriously ill patients.

The HSE said improvements over the past two years have rectified many of the issues raised in the report.
