Former Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan has today said that he prevented former AIB managing director Colm Doherty receiving more than his estimated €3m payout.

Former Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan has today said that he prevented former AIB managing director Colm Doherty receiving more than his estimated €3m payout by limiting his salary when he was appointed.

Mr Lenihan also said that he could not legally prevent Mr Doherty from receiving his other entitlements.
