Court rules against publishing single Cloyne chapter

The High Court has ruled all but Chapter 9 of the report into clerical sexual abuse in Cloyne can be published.

The report looks at how the Church and State authorities handled allegations against clerics in the diocese covering most of Co Cork between 1996 and 2009.

President Nicholas Kearns made his ruling after a private hearing in which it was argued that publication of some of the report could prejudice upcoming criminal proceedings against an individual.

The decision will come back before the court for a review in July.
