Study reveals low morale among hospital consultants
The President of the Medical Council Professor Kieran Murphy has said he acknowledges that hospital consultants are working under conditions which bring about "a lot of challenges".
Professor Murphy was reacting to a survey by the Irish Medical Organisation, which revealed more than half of respondents currently rate staff morale as 'low' or 'very low'.
Many consultants also highlighted a desire to leave their jobs at a time when health chiefs are struggling to fill positions already vacant.
