A man is being treated in hospital this evening after he was shot in Dublin.

A man is being treated in hospital this evening after he was shot in Dublin.

The man, whose injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, was hit in the back during the shooting.

It happened at about 6.30pm this evening at Milltown Bridge Rd., Milltown in Dublin.

He is being treated at St. Vincent's Hospital to the south of the city.

Gardaí at Rathmines are investigating.
