Fishing-vessel wreckage found off north Dublin coast

The wreckage of a fishing vessel has been discovered during the past hour off the north Dublin coast at Clougherhead.

The wreckage of a fishing vessel has been discovered during the past hour off the north Dublin coast at Clougherhead.

It is believed to belong to two fishermen who have been missing since yesterday evening.

A large-scale search is underway off the coast at Skerries for the two men, believed to be aged in their 20s and 40s and from the local area.

Three lifeboats from Skerries, Howth and Clougherhead along with a Coastguard rescue helicopter are all involved in the search operation.

One local woman said: "We're shocked and stunned…Please God they find them, one way or the other."
