Property Council searching for property owners to take landmark case

Unhappy homeowners have been given the opportunity to join in a landmark legal action against the State and its banks.

The Irish Property Council is seeking a willing plaintiff that can be supported in a landmark court action against the "reckless behaviour" of the banks, government policy, and the "incompetence" of the regulatory authorities.

The IPC, which represents builders, developers and investors, is now recruiting property owners who have been badly damaged by the "recklessness" of Ireland's banks.

It wants individuals who feel they were hard done by to come forward as part of a test case.

Patrick White, secretary of the Irish Property Council, said it is time certain people stood up and took responsibility for their actions.
