Skeletal remains have been found in a north Dublin park, gardaí said.

State Pathologist Marie Cassidy has been called to the scene, at Tolka Valley Park, in Finglas.

The Garda Technical Bureau has also been asked to attend.

Gardaí said the remains were found at around 1pm this afternoon. The scene was sealed off.

“It appears that the remains may have been there for some time,” said a Garda spokesman.
