Waterford man jailed for pipe bomb possession
A Waterford man has been jailed for six years for possession of a pipe bomb.
Sean Ryan (aged 28) of Mandeville Lane, Waterford, pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of an improvised explosive device at the Top garage, Butler's Town Roundabout, Cork Road, Waterford on October 15, 2010.
Handing down a six-year sentence, Mr Justice Butler said the court had regard to Ryan’s early plea, his co-operation with the investigation and evidence that he was a “relatively small cog in a large wheel”.
