Gardaí in Dublin have now launched a murder investigation into the death of a 19-year-old man.

Gardaí in Dublin have now launched a murder investigation into the death of a 19-year-old man.

The man was found seriously injured in the car park of Emmet Court apartment block in Inchicore at 10.30pm last night. It is believed that he had suffered a number of stab wounds.

He was rushed to St James' Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

A post mortem is due to take place on the man's body tomorrow morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. In particular they wish to speak to anyone who may have seen a number of youths run along the canal from the direction of Davitt House and over the bridge towards Emmet Court shortly after 10pm last night.
