Former Longford - Westmeath Deputy Mary O'Rourke has said she felt Brian Cowen should have stood down as Fianna Fáil leader after his infamous radio interview last September.

Ms O'Rourke's comments came after her nephew, former Finance Minister Brian Lenihan, told a local Dublin newspaper this week that Brian Cowen had failed as a leader.
