Roscommon Gardaí request information to identify accident victim
Gardaí in Roscommon are appealing for the public's help in identifying a man who was killed in a road crash between Boyle and Carrick on Shannon in the early hours of this morning.
The man, who is believed to be in his twenties, died after being hit by a van on the N4 at Ardcarne at around 4.30am.
Gardaí say the man has a shaven head and was wearing blue jeans, white runners, a grey tee shirt and a dark, charcoal-coloured, zip up top.
His body has been removed to Roscommon County Hospital.
Anyone who thinks they can help the Gardaí are being asked to come forward.
They are advising motorists to avoid the area as a technical examination is being carried out.
Meanwhile, the N81 Tallaght Bypass is closed from the Greenhills Road to the Glenview Roundabout inbound due to a serious collision.
Diversions are also in place there.
