Body of Irish quake victim identified

The body of an Irish man believed to have been in a building which collapsed in the aftermath of last month's earthquake in New Zealand has been identified.

The body of an Irish man believed to have been in a building which collapsed in the aftermath of last month's earthquake in New Zealand has been identified.

Forty-year-old JJ O'Connor from Abbeydorney in Co. Kerry was in the Pyne Gould Building in Christchurch when the earthquake struck.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is providing consular assistance to Mr O'Connor's family.
