Coalition deal likely by the end of today

It is understood a deal on the future coalition government can be reached by the end of today, although there are still some outstanding issues between Fine Gael and Labour.

Talks between Fine Gael and Labour are continuing for a fifth day, as some Labour members expressed opposition to forming a coalition with Fine Gael, urging a left-leaning force in Opposition instead.
