Antrim police investigate attempted robbery of delivery van

An investigation is underway this afternoon following the attempted robbery of a delivery van in Co Antrim.

The incident happened at around 10.20 this morning when the van pulled up at a newsagents on Greenway road in Belfast.

Four men approached the van and police, who were in the area, intervened.

One shot was discharged by police but no injuries were reported.

Three of the men made their escape from the scene on foot , while the fourth man was arrested.

Cregagh Road has been closed between Greenway and Montgomery Road remain closed off.
