O'Donoghue set for South Kerry battle

Final tallies from South Kerry show Fine Gael's Brendan Griffin topping the poll with 8,680 first preferences, or 19.9% of the vote.

Turnout out in the three-seat constituency was estimated at 76%, with the quota expected to be in the region of 11,000 votes.

Independent TD Micheal Healy-Rae was behind Griffin with 6,697 first preferences, or 15.4 % of the vote.

Fianna Fáil John O'Donoghue looks to be set for a fight to retain his seat, coming in fourth behind Independent candidate Tom Fleming in the tally estimates.
