Cork murder probe gardaí in van appeal
Gardai investigating the murder of a 42-year-old father of five near Blarney in Co Cork last week have made a specific appeal for information they say can assist the investigation.
Packie Hogan, a second-hand car dealer living in Carrigaline, was shot dead on the Glen Road between Grenagh and Waterloo just before 4pm last Thursday afternoon.
Gardaí are anxious to speak to the owner or driver of a green Ford Transit van seen in the Birchhill area of Grenagh on the afternoon of the shooting.
"The driver and/or occupants of this van are important potential witnesses and we are requesting that they contact the incident room at Gurranabraher Garda Station on 021 4946200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station," detectives said.
