Survey finds Irish men don't shell out on first dates

A survey has found that Irish men are among the stingiest in the world when it comes to shelling out on first dates.

The survey by dating website, Parship.ie, puts Irish men tenth out of thirteen in a global study of men who were asked whether they would pick up the restaurant bill.

Meanwhile, it appears a lot of people are going to be extremely disappointed today if they are expecting some kind of Valentine's Day present.

A study in the UK shows 30% of men will spend absolutely nothing on their special someone.

Only 25% will spend more than £25 and most will spend less than a tenner.
