Fears of bridge collapse in Co Laois

There are serious fears that a bridge in County Laois is about to collapse.

The main Johnstown to Rathdowney road is closed as a result and the two-mile stretch of road will remain shut for two weeks.

Traffic is being diverted from Johnstown into Durrow through Ballacolla and on into Rathdowney.
