Bailey lawyers to make submissions to High Court today

Lawyers for English journalist Ian Bailey will today make submissions to the High Court in relation to an application to have him extradited to France.

Lawyers for English journalist Ian Bailey will today make submissions to the High Court in relation to an application to have him extradited to France.

The French authorities want to talk to Mr Bailey as part of their investigation into the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier in West Cork in 1996.

The 54-year-old from Schull, Co Cork, has always denied any involvement in the killing.

He was twice arrested by gardaí investigating her murder but was released without charge on each occasion.

After hearing submissions from both sides in the case Mr Justice Peart is expected to spend some time considering his judgement.
