One-year-old dies in head-on crash

A one-year-old boy has been killed and his six-year-old sister injured in a head-on car crash.
The children’s mother was also seriously injured in the collision in Co Limerick.
The woman, who is in her 20s, and her daughter were rushed to Mid Western Regional Hospital for treatment.
Three other men were travelling in the second car, with two taken to hospital. The third man escaped without injury.
The crash happened at Rockhill Cross, Bruff, shortly after 4pm.
Gardai at Bruff are appealing for witnesses.
The road has been closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
AA Roadwatch have warned motorists to drive with care as gale force winds swept across the country.
