Dublin Mayor welcomes anti-begging laws
The Lord Mayor of Dublin is welcoming the publication of new anti-begging laws.
They were enacted yesterday and will enable Gardaí to move on anyone begging near ATMs, night safes or shop entrances.
A person who begs in an aggressive, intimidating or threatening manner will also be guilty of an offence.
Lord Mayor Gerry Breen said it is a welcome development.
