Body found in field

A man’s body was found in a field today.

The dead man, believed to have been in his 30s, was discovered in a ditch on farmland near the N4 close to the Meath-Kildare border.

The body was found at 11.15am in the Moyvalley area.

Forensic examinations are going on at the scene and it is believed the man’s body may have been there for some time.

A Garda spokesman said the body was found by a member of the public, believed to be a local farmer.

The body will remain at the scene until experts from the State Pathologist’s office have carried out preliminary inspections.
