Eircom says services have now been restored to all its customers affected by a technical fault in the southeast of the country yesterday.

A total of 22,000 people in Wicklow, Kilkenny, Carlow Wexford and Offaly suffered disruption to their broadband services.

The company says they have traced the problem to their parent exchange in Waterford.

Local repair crews worked through the night to fix the problem, and eircom has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
