Student leaders plan nationwide campaign to bump up Election vote

The Union of Students in Ireland (USI) has launched a campaign to register 50,000 to vote in the General Election.

The 'Your Future, Your Vote' campaign bus will tour the country to increase student turnout at polling stations.

USI president Gary Redmond said representatives would be visiting every campus in the country to encourage students to vote.

"For far too long, students have been accused of being apathetic about voting…Students want to have their say and...want to vote for a political party that is going to tackle the problem that is the graduate unemployment crisis," he said.
