Noel Treacy also retiring, cites medical reasons

Another one of Fianna Fáil's long-serving TD's has confirmed he won't be contesting the general election.

In a statement this morning, Galway East TD Noel Treacy said he won't be running for medical reasons.

Last night Noel Ahern - brother of former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern - withdrew from a selection convection in Dublin North West.

While in Cork East, Ned O'Keeffe announced he is retiring. His son Kevin will replace him on the ticket.
